ive just updated to libre office 4.4.0.2 on ubuntu 
if you want to get the latest versions just add the ppa to your system like this from a terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-prereleases
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libreoffice
