usually out of the box printers just work with ubuntu / linux but suprisingly the brother mfc7440n didnt
so i just downloaded a deb from here

I used the cupswrapper driver
then went to add new printer, delected bother and then brother cups supplement driver in list and voila it worked, also worked wireless with the same driver
i got this error from the package manager but just clicked continued and it installed it !!
