here is the command for the onscreen keyboard for gedit and firefox etc
DISPLAY=:0 libertine-launch puritine matchbox-keyboard
just run the above command in a terminalwhen the gedit app or firefox is open.
I hear they are adding on the onscreen keyoard in OTA 11 due early june. Which will be much better.
